Language Practice and Competence Training Programme  

Support project for Comprehensive Schools in cooperation with HKM –Projektbüro für Kulturelle Bildung      

Target group: Students Grade 9

Project character: Oral and written foreign language training in real settings

Concept The English Theatre Frankfurt provides

· Locations and objects whose functions can be explored and described
· People with different occupations and tasks, which can be investigated
· Spots and spaces which can be used for role play oral training: box office, bar, auditorium, craft shop, stage, rehearsal rooms, tech box, offices. 
· Events  and actions which can be observed and described: rehearsals, press conferences, performances , technical preparations, building a set
· A stage for own attempts of acting and specking

Achievements  

Enlarging word power, building up trust and fluency of oral performance, providing students with knowledge about a cultural institution, increesing academic curiosity, supporting self-confidence and cultural participation    

Principles of Organization  

1. We employ Language Teachers who create tuition material and prepare the situational structures for the learning arrangements. Units are planned and organized in cooperation with the school management and the personal tutors of the students. Results will be discussed, evaluated and published.  

2. Linguistic preparation is carried out at the schools by the school tutors and is part of the English Lessons and the curriculum. (Input)  

3. Students will visit the English theatre 6 times a year for the practical work according to the 6 units. They do research, interviews, role play, acting, they attend meetings and rehearsals and shows.  

4. Results will be shown by written documents, photos, and oral presentations at school.
