The Music Man
A delightful musical for the whole family by Meredith Wilson
The Music Man, classic of flag-waving, feel-good, musical comedy, follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a kids’ band he vows to organize – this despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian.
Will Harold avoid trouble of his own? Will the kids band succeed? Do Harold and Marion end up making music of their own together? Enjoy this delightful piece of Americana that includes such memorable songs as “Ya Got Trouble,” “Seventy-Six Trombones,” “Marian the Librarian,” and “Til There Was You.”
The Music Man is a Theatre Unlimited production with talented young actors between 9 and 17 years of age.
